Privacy Policy

The short version. If you give us your email, we use it once — to tell you AuroraFox has launched. We do not sell it, we do not share it, and you can have it deleted at any time by writing one line to info@aurorafox.app. When the app exists, it will ask separately before touching your location, and it will work without it.
1. Who is responsible for your data

2. What we collect on this website

That is everything. This site has no analytics, no advertising trackers and no third-party cookies. We do not know who you are until you decide to tell us.
3. Location data
This website never asks for your location.
The AuroraFox app, when it is released, will need to know where you are — a forecast about your sky is meaningless without it. When that happens:
- The app will ask you explicitly before reading the GPS sensor, and you can refuse.
- If you refuse, the app will still work: you will be able to choose a location manually.
- Your exact coordinates stay on our side. Anything we ever publish or share for research is deliberately blurred, so that a report cannot be traced back to your house.
- We will never track you in the background. The app reads your location when you use it, not while it sits in your pocket.
This policy will be updated with the full detail before the app is published, and you will be asked for consent again inside the app. Consent given here does not carry over to the app.
4. Who else sees your data
Only the companies that make the site work, and only because they have to:
- Cloudflare — hosting and storage of the subscription list, and protection against attacks. Servers may be located outside Canada and the European Union.
- The email provider we use to send the launch message, at the moment we send it.
We do not sell your data, we do not rent it, and we do not hand it to advertisers. Nobody has ever asked us for it, and if a public authority did, we would only comply if legally obliged to.
5. How long we keep it
Your email stays on the list until AuroraFox launches and you have been told, or until you ask us to remove it — whichever comes first. If the project were abandoned, the list would be deleted and we would tell you before doing it.
6. Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, send it to you in a portable format, or stop using it. You can withdraw your consent at any time, and doing so does not make anything we did before it unlawful.
One email to info@aurorafox.app is enough. No forms, no justification needed. We answer within 30 days, and normally within two or three.
If you are in the European Union or the European Economic Area and you think we have handled your data badly, you may complain to your national data protection authority. In Canada, to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner. We would rather you told us first, but it is your right either way.
7. Children
AuroraFox is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their email, write to us and we will delete it.
8. Changes to this policy
When the app is released, this policy will grow — mainly in the location section. If anything changes that affects you meaningfully, we will tell you by email before it takes effect, not quietly in a footer.
This document is written to be understood, not to protect us. If any part of it is unclear, ask and we will rewrite it.
